Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first position as production assistant at Univision Miami, where she collaborated with producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In 2009, the CBS channel in St. Petersburg hired her after this as a sports reporter. The journalist was employed with KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. She covered stories about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs in both Texas and Mexico. The station also frequently asked her to be a sports and weather anchor. In the following, she anchored and also reported for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1985 on the 22nd of November in Mexico City. She's younger than her sister. The family moved in Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. They divorced soon thereafter and, in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. The couple remained in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, when she was approached for an opportunity to work. Still a senior in high school, and with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta was able to visit her local University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. She was in love with the campus. They also offered her the major that she desired. Her studies were completed and she received a scholarship to the University with a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and was also the director of WRMU where she is a part of. They had a very close connection. He encouraged her to be confident and self-confident. His passion for journalism greatly influenced her and she also determined to meet his expectations, and to never disappoint him.
